Schylbea J. Hopkins, Regional Director during this time, ventured to Battle Creek to meet with members interested in establishing a chapter to serve the two communities (Battle Creek/Albion). The Regional Director explained the process for establishing a new chapter and assisted in its creation. Through hard work and persistence, the interested members embraced the spirit of ESP and developed programs applicable for the two communities. This lead to the establishment of the Psi Kappa Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated ®
